In sea there are many winds. And Mankind has always used this fact to its own advantage. And if the sea before the winds were necessary for the movement of sailboats on the water, now they become the basis for wind energy. To build several wind turbines offshore is going in Scotland. Moreover, they will be located in an offshore zone and for communication with the ground they provide helipads.
Wind energy is relatively cheap. The most expensive in it – it’s initial investment in the creation and installation of turbines. Then it is possible to get almost free “green” electricity, spent only on maintenance of equipment and paying the tax on land (or rent it). True, the last item of expenditure can be removed if you install the wind turbines somewhere in the middle of the sea or ocean beyond the territorial waters of the state. The principle is not new. Create a network of offshore wind turbines is collected and a separate area in the UK, Scotland. The country recently announced a desire to move to 100 percent “green” energy in the long term. And now the authorities of the autonomy intensified the process of achieving this goal.
Here in this program and will be built first two offshore power off the east coast of Scotland. These wind turbines will create a Netherlands company 2-B Energy, original design of wind turbines, which have two, not three, as it is now, in most cases, the blades, as well as a platform for helicopters in the upper part of the building. As expected, the power of each of these wind turbines will be 6 megawatts per hour. The generated electricity will be supplied by them to the ground by means of cable laid on the seabed.
If the project is the construction of offshore wind turbines of the first two off the coast of Scotland pay for itself, will be installed next to a few tens or even hundreds of such structures. The initial investment will, of course, very big, but then it will be possible to use these structures for decades, receiving virtually free electricity.
