Vamos – futuristic design of the entrance to the subway in the Basque Country

Among the seven finalists of the international contest for the best offer entry station in San Sebastian (Guipuzcoa province, Basque Country, Spain) project Vamos has won first place. New entrance, construction of which is funded by the local government, is intended to be the hallmark of the region.

The aim of the contest was the choice of the conceptual architectural design that will attract users’ attention and easily identify visitors. 

The authors of the winning project – Norwegian architectural studio Snohetta - created a futuristic structure made ??of stainless steel and decorated with thin sheets of glass. The concept of architectural solutions based on the concept of openness and continuous movement.

Impressive design hangs over the entrance to the underground station and represents the transition between two states, connecting the city’s life at the top of the underworld underground. Futuristic visor raised goes inside the station, becoming the decorative part of its ceiling.
