French architectural studio H2o architects carried out an apartment renovation project The Cabin, located in the ski resort of Les Menuires (France). Authors of the project went through a non-standard, designing the layout of the furniture around the multipurpose structure that defines the spatial geometry of the house.
Transformed space of the apartment is 55 square meters has two bathrooms and can accommodate up to eight occupants.
Apartment located in a building built in 1965, has a triple orientation, which has not been evaluated and used in the previous project, which implies over-segmentation.
Windows of dwelling open a picturesque panoramic kind on mountains, that disposes to the maximum open planning, where every location gives an opportunity to see surrounding a house nature.
Scale wooden curve passes through all the space, linking and developing various features of the house. Ergonomic wall unit includes everything you need for daily use.
Working space is located next to the storage system, and sleeper involves reading corner. This piece of furniture is not only functionally and geometrically defined space, but also serves as its visual aesthetic dominant.
Elegant design effectively clears space for living and maximizes the primary functionality.
Beds offer a lot of “bonus” in the form of tubes or additional storage items.
The structure is made of light birch plywood used for interior and walnut veneer, selected to form the curved walls.
