One embodiment of this idea appeared recently in New York. It is a small booth library Stereotank, which is set right on the street.

Support that has developed in the past few years the trend and Venezuelan architects Marcelo Ertorteguy and Sara Valente. They have created commissioned by the New York Architectural League of unusual street library for the Big Apple.
Stereotank – is a small architectural installation, installed on one of the busiest streets of New York. Its authors suggest everyone to distract passers-by for a few tens of minutes from the bustle of the metropolis and read a good book or magazine.
You can do it, ducking under Stereotank and once inside the booth of the library. There, in a sealed capsule from the outside world you will find dozens of books for all tastes.
You can read them straight in or take home one of them. However, for this to be left in the street the library a book instead.
