0Dutch design studio architecten | en | en remade garage building into a home office, located next to the main dwelling of its host on one of the streets of Eindhoven (Netherlands). Old, obsolete garage was ”packed” into sheets of corrugated aluminum and the inside is decorated in a way that doesn’t extradite its original purpose.
According to the architects, a solution was found to create a new “mask” of the structure. Authors of the project covered the conversion of its “veil” of perforated aluminum, used as material for single-wall and roof, which is a subtle modern extension of the inclined roof tile main building.
Lined with large square tile floor office space comes out open-air terrace, dressed on a path to “collar” made of galvanized steel, which emphasizes the boundaries between old and new, and also increases the area open to the public office of the former garage.
Office interior is neutral, but not without design ideas. Solid minimalist table that allows visitors to take a complement built-in storage, one of the doors which is the entrance to the house. The combination of soft light and warm colors of a tree in perfect harmony with the surrounding greenery and home decor, minimalist aluminum exterior.
The abundance of natural light enters through the windows of the inner sliding front office, hiding behind locked gates aluminum. In the case, if owner of the office will be necessary privacy and confidentiality, he can close the external “shutters” to give light from a narrow horizontal strip windows, located on the border of a roof tile roofing office and home.
