The Austrian architectural studio Prechteck drafted modular pavilion called Randerscheinung, which will be formed in Kassel (Germany). The unique architecture of the site intended for exhibition 13th documenta in 2012, aims to break down the stereotypical laws of space, attracting the attention of visitors.
13th documenta exhibition held every five years. Cyclicity of events involves the creation of structures that can be quickly and easily create, dismantle and move from one place to another.
Unique functional modules, and can therefore be used not only every five years, but always, after returning to the cities of Germany, as information kiosks, collect and provide materials for the next exhibition.
“Sedentary” relief landscape structure consists of a truss system, fragments of which are available under a variety of different angles. Unusual pavilion is intended to be a place for exhibitions, meetings, concerts, lectures, as well as communication, reading and leisure guests.
The unique structure also serves as a metaphorical link connecting expositions with the surrounding urban infrastructure. The extension of the object in the horizontal plane is designed to create an atmosphere of unity with the landscape and provide a visual open access for all guests of the show and just passers-by.
