Italian architectural studio IOSA Ghini Associati designed interiors for corporate project office of IBM, based in Rome (Italy). Full restoration of existing premises implied territorial expansion and an ultra-modern design that meets the requirements of time.
The project of new headquarters under the name IBM software executive briefing designed using the latest tools needed to study technologies of IBM, with assistance of their corresponding environment. A successful company, founded in 1911, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of hardware and software, IT services and consulting services.
Ultra-blue recreational facilities, welcoming visitors and employees of the company has its historical roots. After a second informal name IBM – “Big Blue”.
According to one version, this name came from a huge mainframe computers, supplied by the company in 1950 – 1960, which had a blue tint. Another theory is simply the nickname refers to the logo. There is also a version which says that the name comes from a former company dress code, which called for mandatory shirts and blue suits.
Briefings by progressive company, include presentations, demonstration videos, discussion and search for a settlement of business issues and solution of technical problems. According to the architects, the new high-tech corporate office environment is designed to fully create an environment conducive to these goals.
Smooth flowing lines, combined with modern systems of artificial lighting and dynamic designs of materials, side by side here with today’s cabinet and upholstered furniture and ergonomic spatial solutions.
