The Japanese by origin, young the designer and artist Reiko Kaneko was born in capital of Great Britain, London. However practically it has spent half-lives in Japan, and subsequently it has made huge impact on its creativity. Having ended Sacred Martin’s college on a speciality “art and design”, the girl has based own art studio which specialises on creation and manufacture of design products from porcelain. Fancifully decorated plates from series Crack of Thunder just also show the mix of European and east cultures habitual for the author inhabitancy.
“Thunderclap”, to be exact, flash of a lightning by a gold crack cuts the china created in studio Reiko Kaneko. For “usual” people – defect, marriage, a lack, and for the artist and the designer – force of the nature, the natural phenomenon, a hand of the Lord. The matter is that Japanese very much esteem products from porcelain, transfer them from generation to generation and consequently the crack on a favorite plate at all is not an occasion that it to throw out. “Wounded” ware fasten crampons or stick together special mastic and then the crack decorated with gold, it becomes something of a scar, combat wounded, who are proud of the soldiers who returned from the battlefield.
Europeans do not understand any of them would not stick together and keep cracked plate. But the Japanese believe that china keeps communication between different generations, ages, and that the strength of their ancestors has evaporated through the “wound” on the container, it must be carefully patched and covered with gold for fidelity. In addition, decorated so cracks do look like a branched lightning or mountain streams, which in itself is very romantic.
Design porcelain products from Rejko Kaneko are popular in the countries of both hemispheres as the Japanese philosophy and elegance half-and-half with the British practicality do by their useful and practical subjects of a life.
