Phill – family institution in “manga” style by Romanian Designers
0Phill - a meeting place for the whole family – a fun playground, multipurpose hall, a small cafe on the ground floor and even a restaurant on the second level. This is a family institution, recently opened in Romania, draws inspiration from images of vinyl toys and Japanese culture, manga, explaining the bold, playful, inherent in this living space.
Children’s play area and multipurpose space, located on the ground level, equipped with independent lighting and acoustical scenarios. There may be plays and puppet shows, classes in martial arts and ballet lessons.
A small cafe located between two functional zones of the first level, has visual contact with them through a pair of round holes. The open space of the restaurant, located upstairs, is directly connected to the lobby.
All functions and programs of family institution Phill has own scripts, but work closely with each other. Therefore, their spatial and visual context, authors of the project – designers from Romanian studio nuca Studio - paid particular attention.
In order to relate these rooms, the walls were perforated holes and the lower and upper level connects the staircase, which is located near the 4-meter elephant.
Designed to appeal to children and adults, design of this space is inspired by images of vinyl toys and Japanese animation manga culture, hoping to interest and captivate the imagination of all visitors.
Complex in a formal sense geometry of the ceiling is open to interpretation. Some forms of here resulted from a careful treatment of the complex system of air ducts with heavy for the children’s perception of concrete elements.
Bright and positive color palette of the interior and a smooth sleek designed to give visitors a sense of celebration and everyday state of relaxation.
