Operio – formless furniture for Little Princes
0Inspired by the images and illustrations from the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s “Little Prince”, young Israeli designer Bina Baitel has developed a funny collection called Operio, consisting of two pieces of furniture that combine various functions and take the shape and size of its contents.
Adults thought it was a hat, and the little prince said it was a boa constrictor swallows the elephant. Line Operio includes a mini-library and a bench to read, which can “swallow” anything, as well as “omnivorous” and a capacious cupboard, which, if necessary, can be a traditional stool. Cupboard has a supporting metallic form, which will surely come in handy in case of an element of its contents, suddenly appears fragile flower. On the feet of the stool there are fasteners for “parking” forms by some time when there is no need for them or need further below.
Funny furniture develops theme of free interpretation and its application form, which is never final. Both models are made of foam, fabric, varnished wood and metal. Dimensions blue bench libraries are 45h160 cm, and the green tables, stools – 45×55 cm.
