Mefisto kettler: three-legged kettle for design competitions from Electrolux
0Design society younger. Now, not only graduates of design schools, but, in fact, students are able to come up with clever gadgets that are useful in everyday life. For Electrolux Design Competition young designer from Belgium, Daan Ballieu, invented the compact and stylish device about three feet under the name of Mefisto Kettler: a cross between a Soviet boiler and modern minimalist kettle.
The young man thought that we often boil the kettle a lot more water than going to use for making tea, coffee or cooking. Accordingly, spend more energy and time, and this is unacceptable in our society, where people try to be more successful as a spare. And Mefisto Kettler, probably intended to solve this problem, becoming not only convenient but also looks attractive, stylish and compact heater for beverages.
Three-legged heater calculated in two containers – clear cups. Two feet device contain liquid level sensors and wires for heating, while the third limb secretes a battery and charger slot. By determining how full the vessel, the device is turned just enough to heat up no more, no less liquid. A heat or boil water – depends on what mode user chooses.
The same boiler, you say, only in the more noble and stylish “coat”, and a slightly modified and improved by modern masters. Maybe so, but the boiler had to be shut down independently, monitor the state of water in tank, but Mefisto kettler – clever device, and it knows when to shut down. Maybe with his help and will save on electricity, but so far it’s just a design concept.
