According to modern concepts of the phrase “stadium reconstruction” means the almost complete its restructuring. A similar thing happened with the ice arena Max Aicher Arena in the German town of Intsell, it added significantly to the size of the open and become closed, and even having a “smart” roof.
Skating stadium in the city Intsell in the Bavarian Alps was built in 1965 year. Mountain climate permitted to conduct almost all year round at this open air event at the highest level. A wonderful view of the surrounding countryside was one of the “chips” of the sports facilities.
But it took several decades, and it’s time to reconstruct this skating stadium in accordance with modern requirements and modern notions of such facilities. Work took two years, and now Max Aicher Arena opened its doors to participants and spectators competition.
First of all, in this sports complex stands were reconstructed, which are now to hold up to 7000 spectators. In addition, an outdoor stadium turned into a private – was built by a roof, covering the whole structure.
Moreover, this roof is “smart”. It is made ??of modern technology-membrane Low-E, which doesn’t issue the cold of the building during the warm season and retains heat in cold weather. And it saves a lot of electricity required to operate the Max Aicher Arena. In addition to temperature control in a bowl stadium, the roof also has a positive effect on the acoustics – the sound is now scattered over the surrounding mountains, and delays in construction. In addition, the Low-E membrane passes of the sunlight falling on it.
Max Aicher Arena stadium designed as a training base for the German skaters, as well as for competition at its very different levels. It has already gone through one stage of World Championship Ice Speedway and World Championship at the single distance speed skating.
