In the U.S. military is now seriously considering to replace current Humvee SUVs for something else even more powerful, and traversed by the current. Many companies therefore offer for Pentagon their car development. But the main favorite of the race is SUV L-ATV from the company Oshkosh Defense. And its main advantage can be called a hybrid engine!
Car L-ATV – a real all-terrain vehicle which is not afraid of any roads or sandy desert or swamp, none of the existing soil types in the world, not the streets! Thanks to “intelligent” suspension system TAK-4i it easily overcomes the obstacles that any other machine to jam. And this in spite of the enormous weight of the vehicle body due to its reservation.
But the main feature of the L-ATV vehicle from Oshkosh Defense is its hybrid engine with a diesel-electric transmission. The electrical part of the engine, as in the case with the Jaguar C-supercar X16, will be used primarily when starting the car, at a set speed and when they slip. Moreover, it will be almost full and the unit to move the car, and will only help the main, diesel engine, making it more powerful, efficient, and reducing consumption of resources, saving fuel.
In addition, L-ATV batteries are so powerful and intensive, that will nourish not only the engine, but also household appliances. They, for example, can be connected to a dead power supply of buildings or entire neighborhoods. But it is also important, considering that the Army ussually doesn’t only military but humanitarian mission.
