Large-scale and ambitious project, Airport Kuwait International Airport – the work of professionals well known to us the British architectural studio Foster + Partners. This unique air hub aims to be the most significant object located in Kuwait, the Persian Gulf.
Structure plan follows the shape of a trefoil. Despite the particular location, new airport is to become an oasis of comfort in an arid desert. 25-meter central atrium is divided between the three symmetrical wings that take a long interval of 2.2 km. Functions assigned to the airport three levels of unique buildings.
The roof structure is perforated glazed openings that are designed to pass into the interior of a sufficient amount of natural daylight. To make efficient use of energy, the airport is equipped with photovoltaic panels, whose use is especially important in this one of the most arid regions of the planet and the sun.
Airport building is a recognizable national traditions and futuristic interpretation. Majestic arches, glossy surfaces, pools and vegetation that support a favorable microclimate, creating an original object, which, according to the authors of the project will become a new symbol of modern Kuwait and will resonate with its rich cultural heritage and history.
