Innovation Project Campus International School – a new look at high school
0Innovative design of the complex Campus International School, worked for the center of Cleveland (USA), is radically new approach to higher education. Multipurpose facility, designed by experts from the British architectural studio OS + A, provides comprehensive training opportunities and productive leisure of students of different ages.
Flexible design of the space involves the interaction between classes, dining, media center and recreational space, which is also filled with additional opportunities for learning.
Proposed plan allows you to avoid the “dark corners” and “white spots”. Much attention authors of the project give to landscaping the campus. Each functional area the school has direct access to open areas and views of the surrounding landscape.
Building architecture is developed around four major programs – education, personal development, recreation and social interaction. Instead of opting for a linear and continuous distribution of these four blocks, project offers a playful combination of spaces, formed by curved lines and organic shapes. Thus, its plan to make continuous learning step as part of the daily life of students in encouraging a lifestyle environment.
The project authors note that design philosophy of the studio is one of continuous learning and rethinking methods and ideas with the use of architecture as a basis for new discoveries and novel horizons.
