Modern automotive designers agree that focus should be put on creating public transport that is more environmentally friendly. The first step is to begin creation of buses that are not as harmful to the environment as ones made in previous years. This article covers 10 of the most interesting concepts of eco buses for the future.
3D Express Coach by Shenzhen Huashi Future Parking Equipment – This eco bus is an earth friendly solution to many public transportation needs. Each vehicle can hold up to 1400 passengers as they run it through special tunnels designed to prevent traffic problems and accidents. These transports would run on a hybrid solar electric mechanism. According to the calculations of the Chinese engineers, the construction for the rails or pathways for this vehicle would take more than one year.
AutoTram by Fraunhofer System Research – This vehicle has a cabin design that resembles a trolley bus with improved flexibility. This type of earth friendly a transport does not need rails specially built or power lines running along them. They run on lithium ion batteries instead.
B2us by Francesc Gasch – A Spanish designer created a concept of a hybrid bus that is much more energy efficient than a normal transports. It as an electric motor, but is also equipped with solar panels and a battery. By using the OLED technology, bus availability and location can be tracked.
Big Blue Bus by Gabriel Wartofsky – This eco-friendly bus runs on gasoline, but it is made greener by having a system that reharnesses exhaust fumes and and transforms the exhaust into carbon dioxide without more harmful chemical components.
Cameo by Montreal Society of Transportation – Martin Pes’s concept bus can carry up to 32 passengers. It is operated by means of a super capacitor which can be recharged in a few seconds.
Credo E-Bone by Peter Simon – Named for its unique osteoid silhouette, the composite plastic body gives this vehicle a very futuristic look. It is earth friendly due to running on a combination of hydrogen fuel cells and lithium batteries.
Setra Coach by Adam Cunningham and Adrian Barron – This mode of transportation also uses lithium ion batteries for energy. These designers included places of boards that are more convenient for passengers with disabilities.
SKhy by Alain Monteiro – Solar energy powers this earth friendly multi-functional bus. The roof has a solar panels that are transformed into running power. This vehicle does not emit any carbon dioxide, monoxide or other toxins. The hydrogen that is emitted passes through water filters to clean it even more. The bus itself is made of recyclable aluminum and other materials.
Takht Lahori by Ali Murtaza – The Pakistani designer specifically of fashioned this bus to make the transportation needs of the residence of Lahore, the second largest city in Pakistan. It runs on removable lithium ion batteries, which are housed in the bus’s wheels.
Welcome Back by Hector Serrano Studio – Second place entry into the “New Bus for London” contest was this upgrade of the classic omnibus. It was made more compact so it can maneuver on a busy city roads and a hybrid diesel and electric engine minimize emissions.
