Little boys play with toy cars and small transformers, guns and soldiers. And adult boys – with their big, original variants, or independently create them both for themselves, and for other people. Designer David Weeks went even further: first, he created a small toy robot called Cubebot, and then – he repeatedly enlarged copy of the Giant Cubebot, but not for the game, but for serious business.
The huge toy-robot has received name Giant Cubebot as is an exact copy of tiny version Cubebot, unless increased in 20 time. And it means that the project can be used in an interior and as art object, a sculpture for scenery, and as a non-standard piece of furniture. So, the huge robot will allow to lie, sit, stand on itself as one person, and at once several. That for certain will please children, especially if they already at conscious age and saw at least one cartoon film about transformers.
Among other things, Giant Cubebot it is possible to take to pieces, and then some pieces of furniture will turn out at once. Basically, small padded stools, benches or decorative coffee tables. Certainly, so nonconventional way of registration of an interior will approve far not everyone, but for creation of creative atmosphere indoors such furniture – just right.
Huge Robot Giant Cubebot will be presented this year at the exhibition at the Biennale MOST Salone in Milan.
