Indonesian architectural studio Budi Pradono Architects has developed a futuristic new building project Public Library Stockholm Public Library, located in one of the central districts of the capital of Sweden. The structure is formed from two semi-streamlined volume, with a horizontal plate on them.
To the fact that well-known European architectural studios are the authors of the fantastic buildings in the southern and eastern countries, we have long been accustomed to. But the project of the library building in one of the cultural capitals of Europe by highly qualified specialists of Southeast Asia is surprising and genuine interest.
This is a conceptual form has many advantages as a “vessel” for the large-scale integrated library. It will operate a spacious reading rooms, studios, an auditorium and a restaurant.
The unique building, which consists of three parts, provides panoramic views of the old European city and offers modern, open space to communicate a lot of people, acting as the communications hub of the new cultural Stockholm.
The structure is both distinctive, spacious and most functional. Alternative image for the city library architecture, partly refers to features of nearby buildings, guarded. Surround glass not only provides a high level view of the urban landscape, partly erasing the boundaries between external and internal, but also to all premises supplying enough natural daylight.
A fun drop-like bulge creates an organic visual dynamics and exterior, in a literal sense, form separate “zones immersion” within the space of the upper horizontal side of the building.
