From trash into the furniture. Ottomans Knit Knack of drums from old washing machines
0The designers working in cities who worry post-war crisis, and also the products developed by them in these uneasy conditions, will always go the separate paragraph in the history of modern design. The niche in this history – at the Lebanese company Junk Munkez which is engaged in that transforms the stuff found in streets of Beirut, into original and bright pieces of furniture.
One of last workings out of company Junk Munkez represents a line of original bright furniture with ethnic motives, and is called Knit Knack. Cheerful padded stools with an ethno-embroidery and multi-coloured pillows once were drums from old washing machines. However force of reconsideration of stuff in useful things is so great that has inhaled life in this useless stuff, having made its stylish and attractive design project.
Padded stools Knit Knack are issued so that to underline that highlight – merge industrial and traditional – which creates mood of a series of unusual furniture. Natural punching of drums serves as “outline” for an ethno-embroidery whereas the steel skeleton, absolutely hollow inside, can serve as a bedside table for storage of the most different things which need to be held near at hand. A series of padded stools Knit Knack – not unique, and it is far not last eco-project from designers from studio Junk Munkez.
