Formwork – creative “cell” from Irish artist

Formwork – a project carried out by experts from the Irish Architectural Studio Architecture Republic in Dublin (Ireland). Cottage Studio, located in an area of only 25 square meters, owned by Irish artist John Graham and an additional space for work and leisure.
Unusual building, built on the edge of the green garden. New studio has become a buffer between private and public areas, as well as a link between the garden and patio.
Floor level in the room studio was intentionally omitted to 750 mm below ground level, so the desktops are designed for large canvases were in the same plane with him. Ceiling height increases from the studio at the entrance, is 2.4 meters to 3.15 meters in the center of the room.
Along the perimeter of the creative space is running tape, forming the necessary functional areas – tables, stairs and a sitting area with a soft mattress surface and bright yellow illuminated from below.
Natural light enters the room, “cells” through geometric cutouts in the walls, arranged horizontally and vertically. In the integrated ceiling lights that simulate daylight.
This introverted space where you can safely concentrate on work, rest and relax. Visual relationship with environment are limited, providing only view from a seated position. However, those narrow horizontal windows is enough to illuminate the workspace and create a unique environment chamber.
