Cocoon_FS – traveling model of the phytoplankton from German architects
0Cocoon_FS - experimental work by experts from the German architectural studio Pohl Architects. The object has been designed and developed for PlanktonTech - German research institute that studies the life and properties of plankton.
The concept was inspired by the shape of the structure of phytoplankton diatoms. Unique structure, effectively stand out from the surrounding traditional buildings made out of white reinforced plastic panels.
At present, a beautiful embossed architecture attracts visitors to the Institute and serves as a symbolic object of the research complex. However, a mobile exhibition, exposition, tells about the work and achievements of the institute, in the near future will begin to travel around the world.
Easy-to-build modular system allows Cocoon_FS structure to follow a traveling exhibit and be seen by the largest possible number of interested visitors.
The work of authors of a unique project can be found on the official website of their architectural studio, office of which is based in Berlin: http://www.pohlarchitekten.de/expl.html
