Serbian industrial designer Marko Vukovic, known to our readers by the project a green screen Sunflower, borrowed from Mother Nature and the idea for one more conceptual project. However, at this time we are not talking about the nature, which manifests itself in flowers, grasses and trees, but about outer space – stars, planets and time. Which is part of the space itself, and is present in each of our lives as a desktop, watches or clocks.
The draft of the original wall clock from Marco Vukovic called The Clock Saturn. It is not difficult to guess at what planet the author sought inspiration. The designer believes that the existing wall clock rather boring in their design, especially when it comes to the classic version analog clock with three arrows. One – for hours, the second – for a minute, the third – for seconds, and from day to day running three arrows each other, chasing the “girlfriend”, then again, leaving far ahead. The Saturn Clock – clock with no hands at all, but for them to determine the exact time doesn’t take much.
Saturn – rings and satellites, in The Saturn Clock – disks and holes. One disc, black, rotating clockwise at a speed of minutes, and counting minutes is a small “satellite”-hole. The second is responsible for the clock, and indicates their “companion”- hole bigger. Stylish, strong and even, The Saturn Clock serve as useful ornament office or living room, and the color of the disk can be fairly wide range of shades.
An interesting effect can be seen at night: in the dark hours begin to lightly shine from within, make it easier to keep track of time. And this mysterious glow will be another nice advantage in the design of “space” wall clock from Marko Vukovic.
