Chinese Museum of comics and animation

Architectural office MVRDV won the design competition of Chinese comics and animation museum in Hangzhou. The building is a recognizable element of the comic strip – a white “cloud” with the text. More precisely, eight “clouds”. They can be projected text and images. In one of the “clouds” located lobby, in the other – the permanent exhibition halls and temporary exhibitions, cinemas, educational center and a library of comics. The total area of the museum will be 30 000 sq. km.

The Museum will be part of Center comics and animation. Near the museum building will be a park. In addition to the center will be expo center, where there will be an annual international festival of comics and animation. Also Center will include offices, a hotel and conference center.
