Archimedes Food Bowl: applied physics in industrial design
0Fans of the series “The Big Bang Theory” remember, as Dr. Sheldon Cooper speaks about scientists who are engaged in their studies not in physics, but in other areas. Physics – the queen of Sciences, says Sheldon, and who knows it, can move mountains. The designers of the Italian company Acquacalda, however, didn’t collapse the mountain, they only used their knowledge of physics to create unusual weight in the form of a ceramic bowl, which was named Archimedes Food Bowl.
Bowl-scale works by Archimedes’ principle, but using it might even make a friend of Sheldon, the waitress Penny which doesn’t know the principle itself , but know that the depth indicates the weight of the contents. The more so that the walls of the ceramic cup is applied markings, as on most conventional scales.
So, you just need to fill that Archimedes Food Bowl products are going to cook, and immerse it in water. The water level will be right in front of the mark weight, which you need to remember. Similarly, as in the pharmacy!
